This uniquely alaskan bronze monstrance was designed by Jacques Regat.
In a semicircle at the bottom are seven figures, each holding a lighted sparkler. Viewed from a distance, they take on the appearance of Nother Lights. Up Close, they could be interpreted to be seven sisters, each holding a light, or the seven sacraments or the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit.
At the top of the monstrance is a patron saint of the community, St. Michael the Archangel, with his wings circling down to embrace the world.
In the middle is the cross, where the Blessed Sacrament is encased, a sure sign that Christ is the focus of prayer and the center of life at this monastery.
